Srinivasa Murthy was born on 15th May 1949
As a director, he has made a name for himself with his numerous television series, starting in 2001, that focus on the lives of notable Kannada philosophers and poets, as well as adaptations of popular Kannada literary works.
He is also known for his acting roles in Kannada cinema, often appearing in supporting roles.
Srinivasa Murthy started his artistic career on the stage, both professionally and in amateur theatre, before transitioning to film in 1977.
Srinivasa Murthy ventured into producing Kannada films at an early stage in his career.
He began producing films in collaboration with his friend Jai Jagadish.
Their filmography includes titles such as "Maathru Devo Bhava" and the comedy film "Thaayigobba Tharlemaga" starring Kashinath and the actress Chandrika.
He later produced "Nambidare Nambi Bittare Bidi," directed by Umesh, which marked the debuts of actors Shruthi and Hosamane Aliya, as well as featured Anant Nag and Bhavya.
He then transitioned to directing with the critically acclaimed children's film "Devara Makkalu," which earned an award for Best Children's Film from the State Government of Karnataka.
In parallel to his career in films, Murthy directed and starred in many television soaps.
