Will Ianis Hagi be at least as good footballer as his father, the great Gheorghe Hagi?

Ianis Hagi has just been transferred from Viitorul Constanta (Romania) to Fiorentina (Italy) – he’s an attacking midfielder / Striker – Right Wing and he has all the chances to become great, as he’s very young.

He became in the end capatain at FC Viitorul, his team in Romania.

He learned the “art of football” from his father at Gheorghe Hagi football Academy and it means a lot, it will help him advance fast.

Ianis debuted in Liga 1 Romania at the end of 2014 and he scored twice, but we expect much more from him in Italy. In 2 games only he had two assists at Fiorentina. This video is from his 1st match: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oPE6r9cbsYk

He seems a very confident young fellow and I think that the pressure of his father’s success won’t intimidate him, as everyone will compare him with the big Gica Hagi.

He declared that he’s ready for Serie A, even though he’s only 17 and he hopes to be as great as Adrian Mutu, another Romanian that played for Fiorentina.

This is what Gheorghe Hagi says about his own son:

‘(Ianis) has talent and all the mental qualities. He plays with emotion, he is generous, he works for the team.

‘He can provide assists (he already did that in both matches with Fiorentina), he makes decisions quickly and he’s good with both feet – I was always on my left foot.

‘He has a lot of work to do, of course, but he is growing all of the time. We need to polish him, but he is better than I was when I was the same age. He will be captain of Romania one day.’

Ianis Hagi in his turn said that he loves everything about his father, especially his ambition.
