What is Ed Sheeran vocal range?

I found Ed Sheeran’s vocal here: http://stupidvocalcritiques.tumblr.com/post/106680318952/ed-sheeran-vocal-critique and I compared it to other artists, from the available data on http://www.concerthotels.com/worlds-greatest-vocal-ranges

Ed Sheeran has a Studio Vocal Range between F2 – F5

Live Vocal Range: G#2 – A4/B4 – A5

ed sheeran vocal range f2 - f5

Compared to Justin Bieber, Sheeran has quite a wide voice range, but that does not mean much, of course . Bieber is just an example of notoriety in my humble opinion.

The lowest note that he could reach in studio was F2, just as Mariah Carey (but he’s a dude, so he could have sing lower), while the highest is F5. Other artists like Bob Dylan, Kurt Cobain, Eminem and Neil Young reach this note, but they have a wider range, hitting lower notes better than Ed.

You can see that he’s so far away from Prince and AXL Rose, prince being well-known for his high notes (B6, more than one octave higher than Ed), while AXL is the closest to Barry White’s rough voice. Sheeran is also more than 1 octave higher than their lowest notes.

This does not matter that much, his voice tone is very soft but it can also be very powerful.

He’s great at falsetto too.

He’s still a young singer, very talented and ambitious and I hope he will expand his vocal range quite a bit. It’s all learnable and upgradable, right?
