Early life - Laroi was born in Waterloo, Sydney, Australia. A series of changing his residence happened later, namely: moving to Woolloomooloo at the age of 2, moving again to Broken Hill at the age of 7, yet again when he was 11 - to Redfern, New South Wales.
Two years later he started his music career.
From a young age, his mother would play him music by the Fugees, Erykah Badu and Tupac, who truly inspired him.
Charlton is currently residing in Los Angeles, California with his mother and younger brother Austin.
Debut - Laroi originally amassed a small following from his associations with rapper Juice Wrld, who mentored him while he was on tour in Australia in 2018 and 2019.
Musical career - In 2018, he garnered attention after becoming a finalist in the Triple J Unearthed high competition.
Laroi later signed a record deal with American rapper Lil Bibby's record label Grade A Productions and Columbia Records in 2019.
He has performed live with rappers Juice WRLD and Tkay Maidza.
