  • When I launched my company, I was told to stay away from my customer. Industry insiders told me I would be more desirable if I kept my distance. Needless to say, I didn’t listen. Instead, I took a different path. I wanted to engage with my customers and respond to their opinions. So I tried every social media platform I could find. This proved to be extremely beneficial and I ended up using much of this feedback to chart the direction of my business.
  • A combination of our loyal customers and the creative use of new technology, has helped us build one of the fastest growing (and digitally innovative) brands in the fashion industry. Not bad for a business we started in a sixth floor walkup apartment, with virtually zero industry connections and even less money.

I worked like a dog – until 11 at night – until I had my kid, and then I was like, I’m not going to do that anymore. I don’t want to have a kid I don’t see.
  • There are women in my life who have given me advice or partenered with me in some way, when I was trying to grow my business. Their support and encouragement taught me how valuable it is to push each other to be fearless and indepedent. Remember, when it comes to starting your own company, 'no' is just the beginning of yes. Make sure you find a whitespace - grow a thick skin and be the best in the game. It takes blood, sweat and tears, so investing in a team that wants to ride the wave with you is key.
  • No one likes to hear this, but hard work and pure grit is why our brand is where it is today. My brother, Uri, is my co-founder, and from the beginning we battled and fought to get our business off the ground. Nothing was ever handed to us. I've learned that by surrounding myself with people who are experts in areas that I'm not, is what builds a powerful team.
