How did “Pokémon Go” go viral?

Chinese that beleive in the theory of conspiracy are afraid that Pokemon Go can help enemies locate military bases.

You can put pokemons in different places and then see the locations where users are not allowed to go for capturing them, because of access restrictions.

They fear, because Americans have Google (Maps) and Japanese have Japonia Nintendo Co Ltd, owner of Niantic, company that developed Pokemon Go.

It became viral become that’s what viral means, to attract the masses. And Pokemon Go attracts masses in certain locations to play it. It’s a brilliant strategy.

Many fear that people can be controlled through this app, as you know where they were, at a certain time. Others find it very useful, as this game gets you out of your house to play it.

Interaction is the key here. That made it so popular and spectacular. You cannot hide anymore behind an avatar online, you show your real face in front of other players.

“Pokemon Go”  went viral as John Hanke, boss at Niantic Labs, it’s a genius. Due to him we all use today Google Earth and Google maps.

He was also the founder of Keyhole, company that was acquired by Google in 2005. Their most amazing app was what later became Google Earth.

After Keyhole was sold, John Hanke worked for Google “Geo” division as Vice President of Product Management, where he took care of:

  • Google Earth
  • Google Maps
  • Gogole Local
  • Google StreetView
  • Google SketchUp
  • Google Panoramio

a 3D master so to say

jesus, it’s a huge obsession. I hope nobody gets hit by the car on the street because of this game.
