- Long history - Despite getting on its own two feet in 2007, the roots of the company started in 1941, when Aircraft Marine Products was founded. It was later taken over by Tyco International in 1999. In 2007, the group split into Covidien, Tyco International and Tyco Electronics, the latter becoming what is known today as TE Connectivity.
- Great coverage - With 72,000 employees in 50 countries and customers in over 150 countries, the company managed to establish itself as one of the lead communication systems companies.
- No broadband, but $3bn - The company decided to sell its broadband networks solutions division i 2005, for a whooping $3bn.
- Splits - The $12bn sales are split as follows - Transportation solutions amount to 50% of its sales followed by the Industrial Solutions with 28% and the Communications Solutions with 22%. EMEA and Asia also account for 35% of sales each, with the Americas getting the remaining 30%.
