- World conquerors - Started in 1933 in an empty grocery store in Rhode Island, American Tourister became one of the top brands to dominate the luggage segments and is now present in over 90 countries.
- Samsonite - American Tourister was bought by Samsonite in 1993. As former rivals, the idea of being incorporated in Samsonite, came into discussion, but the American Tourister was already a strong brand so it was decided to keep it running like that.
